Audio Formats

Discovery+ does not list their supported audio formats. As of 2021-12-03 all their content is streamed in only stereo with no surround-sound support (AC3/5.1/etc). I suspect they do not disclose this because it is a major negative to those who expect at least 5.1 audio on a modern streaming platform. I have verified it is only stereo with Discovery+ support, directly. And several threads on Reddit also confirm this, such as: https://www.reddit.com/r/ShieldAndroidTV/comments/kqa5uy/discovery_plus/ or https://www.reddit.com/r/cordcutters/comments/kzaa8c/discovery_good_and_bad/ However, I have been unable to find any review or authoritative source to cite. Citing Reddit or my own confirmation is not adequate. Just because it is un-cited does not make it untrue or less valuable to point out to those who are looking for information about Discovery+.

As such, I tagged the information provided under the "Criticism" section with a "citation needed", but it would be best to leave this valid information in the article until someone can either prove or disprove it with a citation.

I think the articles should be merged after the deal is done. This would make save the trouble of creating another article. However, let's make sure to save the info prior to the merger.

Availability on Megogo and Go3

After doing some research, I found no evidence that Discovery+ is still available on Megogo or Go3 in any country. In Ukraine, it was replaced by HBO Max within Megogo, which was the only country where this occurred. Oswa.contreras (talk) 01:56, 19 September 2025 (UTC)Reply
