List of Parishes: Importance challenged
[edit]I question the importance of the list of parishes for the following reasons:
- (1) Individual items are not referenced; the general reference offered for the list leads to a web page which says "Indirizzo errato", 'erroneous link'; at the moment, then, the Section on Parishes is unreferenced.
- (2) Wiki-links are to Italian communes, not to parishes, and the commune articles do not mention parishes;
- (3) doubtful purpose for the list, which section does not make clear.
Is the list notable? Simply because it exists and can be cut-and-pasted, does not make it notable. The list should probably be deleted, unless the problems mentioned can be addressed. --Vicedomino (talk) 07:23, 11 April 2018 (UTC)
- I note that the diocese of Fossano maintains a list of its parishes on its website. --Vicedomino (talk) 22:21, 18 April 2018 (UTC)
Dioceses of Fossano and Cuneo were united in June 2023
[edit]According to Catholic Hierarchy, the Diocese of Cuneo and the Diocese of Fossano were united on June 1, 2023. This is supported by their current website and Annuario Pontificio 2025. Since the area of Fossano was 275 sq km and the combined diocese is now 1841 sq km, does it make sense to move the Diocese of Cueno to a new name of Diocese of Cueno-Fossano since it was the larger diocese? It's name also comes first in the name of the united diocese, in the URL, and on the home page of the website. I presume relevant info from this article could be merged into the new combined article, but not sure how that should be done. I propose keeping this article mostly as is, with just a few sentences explaining their union in 2023 and changing the category from current dioceses in Italy to Category:Former Roman Catholic dioceses in Italy. Do others agree? Can someone take the lead in merging content from this article into the new combined article for the Diocese of Fossano-Cuneo?Workman (talk) 14:52, 6 November 2025 (UTC)
