Most sources give the release year of this film as 1965, yet this link at Amazon gives it as 1964.

The statement "His act of revenge leads him to be tried under government laws, where justice for black people does not exist" is over the top and POV. The theme of the movie is that the laws do not understand or allow for vigilante action- specifically in this case by a black person.
