It is difficult to write a decent article about someone like Dimitry Sydor as most of the stuff one can find online about him is basically local drama and tabloid journalism inappropriate for a BLP – plus him being a controversial Rusyn figure doesn’t help much. Which is why I had to mainly rely on info off primary (?) sources like governmental websites.

That being said, I decided to include a Zakarpattia Online and a Zaxid.net article that don’t really have enough credibility behind their accusations since I deemed it important to note they had a big impact on what public thought of Sydor. I hope words like “alleged” help illustrate the issue without giving the accusations undue weight.

I’m also unsure whether it was the right choice to include the conflicting information about his supposed position as a Zakarpatska Oblast Council deputy – many Ukrainian and Subcarpathian media outlets repeat this info, but sadly the Council itself doesn’t list its 2002–2006 (or earlier) deputies on its website. According to the vote results Sydor didn’t get elected.

I am of course open to feedback and further discussion. :) Flipdot (talk) 19:14, 6 February 2026 (UTC)Reply
