First Version
[edit]I just published the first version, integrated from many sources. Reading it, I personally find my style a little bit too catchy, perhaps being taken away by those many business minded sources. I would appreciate your tweaks in text and verbage. Also feel free to add, enhance and correct inaccuracies. ScienceGuard (talk) 19:32, 9 May 2017 (UTC)
Merger proposal
[edit]I propose to merge Digital banking into Neobank as it appears to be two different names for the same concept. Sargdub (talk) 10:03, 4 May 2019 (UTC)
I believe these should not be merged as the concepts are different. Neobanks are start-ups (e.g. Revolut, N26, Monzo) which are challenging the Banking industry. However, many of these only became proper banks recently (i.e. granted Banking license). They tend to be focused on User Experience and offering products at lower fees (e.g. FX) than traditional Banks. On the other hand, Digital Banking is the practice of Banking in the Digital world, something that incumbents (i.e. traditional banks) are focusing on.
- Digital Banking is an expression that is used in academia. Neobanks is not. So I disagree with this suggestion. ScienceGuard (talk) 14:14, 8 August 2019 (UTC)
I disagree that it makes sense to merge this into Neobank, as they are two different concepts. Digital banking are the delivery of online banking services. The terminology 'digital banking' became preferred in the 2010s, but is a synonym for online banking software services. The services that white-label digital banking providers offer, such as Lumin Digital, Alkami, or Q2 Software, are online banking / digital banking. They call their offerings digital banking because that's the modern term for the same thing. If anything, any unique content here should be folded into online banking, and this (and the Wikidata entry) should be merged. Seanamcelroy (talk) 23:51, 18 July 2026 (UTC)
Many Spam Entries
[edit]The article has been subject to many spam entries. People openly advertised their books in the text, or their product offerings. I deleted those entries. Please help to check whether the article is clean now. To recapitulate: I conceived the original wikipedia entry based on the publications by Kelman, locke, Ginovsky, Sharma and Dias et al. All these articles were retrieved on 9 May 2017. Some new entries like the texts be eveleth and Villaseca really add value. Others are really irritating. Let us keep the quality up.
