[edit]I am not a printer, but I do a lot of product development including working on the container choice, the label design, etc.
It seems to me this page could be a very useful training and reference guide to a lot of of folks that work in the packaged goods industry.
It might be a good start to submit an example of a dieline and explain how the label/package designer utilizes it, and how the printer expects to receive artwork based on the dieline specs.
