Justicia angustaDianthera angusta – This is a synonym per POWO. UtherSRG (talk) 16:02, 2 November 2025 (UTC)Reply

Also per COL, GBIF, and WFO. - UtherSRG (talk) 16:07, 2 November 2025 (UTC)Reply
I note, however, that the remaining links in the taxonbar refer to it under the current name, so maybe this should be more of a discussion in the article, or discussion in the article and a move. - UtherSRG (talk) 16:09, 2 November 2025 (UTC)Reply
iNaturalist is the only one of the remaining taxonbar links that I have any expectation of being up-to-date with recent taxonomic changes. iNat generally follows POWO, but has explicitly rejected doing so for J./D. americana (see here). One comment in the iNat discussion notes that "POWO's treatment is nonsense" based on POWO having a Justicia species that should be included in Dianthera if Dianthera is recognized (although that particular species doesn't have a legitimate combination in Dianthera). Post move discussion

[edit]

I've updated the article to reflect the move, and wrote a small bit about it being placed in the two genera. As this is such a small article, I don't want a taxonomic argument to out weigh the rest of the information, but it probably could be expanded. Plantdrew's response above leads me to think this might eventually move back to Justicia, so maybe some indication of such would be good? Also, I bet there should be some discussion on one or both of the genera articles about the current mess... - UtherSRG (talk) 15:26, 11 November 2025 (UTC)Reply
