Expedition

The article says:

On June 23, 1804, whilst the Fort Diamond was on a provisioning expedition

How the bloody hell does an island go on an expedition? That's like saying my house went coal mining. It makes no sense. - 83.100.233.169 (talk) 01:46, 9 June 2013 (UTC)

Details matter. Diamond Rock couldn't go on an expedition; the schooner Fort Diamond (note the italics), could and did. Acad Ronin (talk) 06:24, 9 June 2013 (UTC)

No longer commissioned

The uninhabited rock is no longer commissioned. The source it references is erroneous reading/translation ; which indicated it in the past sense and states that it is French today.

Natural History / Liophis cursor

The paragraph that discussed the Liophis cursor is confusing, possibly from successive edits. it says the island is gone to a species that was believed to be extinct, but which is unnamed; then mentions the snake; then says the snake is believed to be extinct.

I think the intent was to indicate that Liophis cursor was considered at one point to be extinct, but now is believed to survive only on Diamond Rock? Mastakos (talk) 01:53, 2 June 2025 (UTC)
