Can glass wool used for insulation devitrify?

It was alarming to read the statement that glass wool used for insulation could devitrify and turn into a powder. As it is written, it implies that such devitrication could occur under normal circumstances. Even a small amount of devitrication, for example on the surfaces of the glass fibres, would produce a powder that, if inhaled, would be a serious health hazard. I added a citation-needed tag to clarify this. I saw that there is no such claim in the section on health problems of glass wool (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Glass_wool#Health_problems).
