Developayellidae → Developea – The name Developea is more popular as a rank, also, Developayellaceae is far more popular as a family name. See Adl et al., 2019, Cho et al., 2022, Weiler et al., 2020 and AlgaeBase. Jako96 (talk) 23:03, 8 January 2026 (UTC)

• Support. Although this is contrary to the usual practice of covering monotypic taxa in a single article titled at the lowest rank, in this case using Developea as the title seems like a good way to avoid having to choose between a botanical name (Developayellaceae) and a zoological name (Developayellidae). Developayellaceae → Developea – This page was moved to Developea with a requested move, but than moved to Developayellaceae without consensus. I support to move it to Developea yet again, as it's the mostly used name. See some sources: Adl et al., 2019, Cho et al., 2022, Weiler et al., 2020 and AlgaeBase. • Comment: The naming convention for monotypic fauna is to use the name for the lowest rank while the guidance for plants is a little more complex but favors the family name. Following either approach would favor the current title, Developayellaceae, but to my knowledge there remains no consensus as to the applicability of those guidelines to organisms such as these. The AlgaeBase link shared lists Family Developayellaceae. Google Scholar appears to give many more hits for "Developea" but a quick scan of the first page of hits reveals many typographical and OCR errors where the author clearly intended to write developed. I have no strong opinion on this but the basis for the proposal is a little unclear to me. User:Plantdrew previously noted that Developea was a good compromise between having to choose either the botanical or zoological name, and that does seem reasonable. —Myceteae‍🍄‍🟫 (talk) 17:29, 11 July 2026 (UTC)
