Remove the following line from the article:

"They are of Shudra status in the Hindu caste system.[7][8][9][10] However, they use the Devanga Purana, a text sacred to the Devangas, to claim Brahmin status, despite having a non-Brahmin profession.[11][12] They replaced their native local gotras with Sanskritic gotras.[13]"

According to Wikipedia's policies, such as Neutral Point of View (NPOV) and No Original Research, content should reflect a balanced and verifiable presentation of ideas. Discriminatory identification based on caste contradicts these principles, as it is not supported by the majority of Hindu texts and is inconsistent with the inclusive spirit of modern Hindu reform movements. @Mrfoogles, sorry if it was not clear. To simply put "Discriminatory identification" for example identifying a sector of people as Shudras ( which has very derogatory meaning in social interpretations) has to be avoided and not tolerated in a world's modern knowledge base like Wikipedia. The article has major flaws

The article does not talk about the sub-castes within Devanga and their Mutt in Hemakuta,hampi

The article lacks information about the sub-castes of Devanga who has their Difference with other Devangas and Kannada devanga and telugu devanga does not share same traditions/practices.
