A fair number of shows on other networks use the Descriptive Video Service option (most notably on Fox and CBS). Mhking 3 July 2005 03:20 (UTC)

DVS videos

[edit]

The Canadian National Institute for the Blind has a large collection of DVS videos that blind and visually impaired Canadians can borrow for free.

"Inventor"

[edit]

Why is WGBH-TV supposed to be the creator of DVS? --Abdull 21:50, 24 March 2006 (UTC)Reply

redirect?

[edit]

Shouldn't the query for "described video" be redirected to the article for "audio description", which is about the form in general, rather then this article, which is about a specific organization? Thanks. Blanchard27 00:30, 16 July 2007 (UTC)Reply

Big Edit

[edit]

Well, after stumbling over some great source material and encorporating other source material that was already there but not cited, I found myself editing this article pretty much to the point of a rewrite. Hey, I was told to "go bold", so... :-) I do really appreciate all the work everyone else has done, and you're welcome as usual to make whatever changes you think are important. That's how this stuff works. So thanks, and keep up the great work. Blanchard27 20:20, 31 July 2007 (UTC)Reply

SpongeBob?

[edit]

Is SpongeBob really available in DVS? If so, which episodes? --SpongeSebastian (talk) 07:09, 20 November 2007 (UTC)Reply

In Canada

[edit]

Apparently, local station CHWI-TV uses Descriptive Video Services, alongside the Detroit locals. Should we mention that DVS is not strictly an american product, and that it's used by canadian stations as well? RingtailedFoxTalkContribs 00:32, 24 July 2011 (UTC)Reply
