The subject probably does meet notabilty criteria for inclusion as a Wikipedia article, but this article has become a point of view and biography of living persons nightmare. A Wikipedia article is not the place for speculation on motives or actions; if any assertion is made, especially when a controversial assertion is introduced, it must be accompanied with reference to a reliable source. This article, as it stands, has no sources, and from even a cursory examination of the edit history, has been a battleground of speculation and opinion, with no attempts to provide sources. Notability

Notability has not been established and the article will be referred for deletion unless Msgr. Farrell's inclusion in Wikipedia is justified by something distinguishing him from other clerics in Ireland. Mythicproportions 16:30, 8 October 2007 (UTC)

Msgr. Farrell was for ten years the president of Ireland's foremost seminary, heading up one of the country's most historic institutions. While in that role, he played a key part in the training of the staff of Ireland's most numerous and certainly most powerful religious denomination. As such, he is clearly in line to become a Roman Catholic bishop in Ireland. This alone distinguishes him from most clerics in Ireland. In addition, while in Maynooth he was associated with Msgr Miceal Ledwith first as a student, then as his executive secretary, then as his vice-president in the last year of Ledwith's presidency. While absolutely no insinuations are made about any complicity in or knowledge of the Ledwith scandal on the part of Msgr Farrell and there is no imputation of guilt by association, it is a matter of public record that Msgr Farrell held these positions in which he would have worked as a close collaborator with Micheal Ledwith. For these reasons therefore, Msgr Farrell is the sort of prominent person who does merit an entry in Wikipedia. how does this distinguish him from other clerics in Ireland. He probably wont be a Bishop fpr three reasons,

1. Since he retired as President he was not made Bishop, rather another man was made Bishop in Ossory.

2. He is a cousin of disgraced President Michael Ledwith.

3. While he cant be blamed for the fact that the number of entries into Maynooth have plumited during his Presidency, the reader must ask why the drop-out rate went through the roof, for example in the last year that Msgr Farrell was president only two men were ordained Priest while six men left. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Truthsayer101 (talk • contribs)
