Talk:Delisle scale

Hello.

After reading about the Delisle scale here, I found myself confused by the °F from/to °De conversion formulas. I just couldn't make the math work using the formulas as given. Further investigation seemed to show that the occurrences of the value "121" should instead be "212". Replacing "121" with "212" did indeed correct the problems in my own calculations. In case it's worth mentioning, the first site I found with the presumably correct formula was:

If I've truly found an error here I hope that it can and will be corrected to spare others the same confusion. If I'm somehow in error please tell me where I went wrong.

My apologies for any violation(s) of discussion policies or etiquette on my part. This is my first time being anything more than a silent reader here.

My calculations confirm that it should be 212 instead of 121. Thanks for finding this error. Note that some of the pages in other languages (i.e. German) have the correct equation. --Corilof (talk) 16:00, 10 July 2008 (UTC)

Sign of interval conversion

Since the Delisle scale runs in the opposite direction of the Kelvin, Celsius, Fahrenheit, and Rankine scales; shouldn't the temperature interval conversions be negative; i.e., 1 De= -2/3 C = -1.2 F
