I could not understand this definition. Can someone explain it a bit more n a little better? What is it that you do not understand?

If you only know the distance between Tx and Rx, you cannot say anything about delay spread. For instance:
Let the distance between Tx and Rx in free space be 1 km. Since in free space there is no multipath, the delay spread is zero.
Let the distance between Tx and Rx in a dense urban environment be 1 km. The delay spread in these environments can be, for instance, 1 us. Thus, the delay spread depends on the multipath richness of the environment. --Avalcarce (talk) 21:52, 11 September 2010 (UTC)Reply
