Lead

[edit]
  • As a playable character, she utilizes the Pyro element... - Can this be explained further in the lead? A casual reader might not know what the Pyro element entails in the game. kline / talk / contribs 19:58, 15 February 2026 (UTC)Reply
  • which, in of itself, was highly anticipated - This is redundant, "which was highly anticipated" gets the same point across + for future reference it's spelt "in and of itself" kline / talk / contribs 19:58, 15 February 2026 (UTC)Reply
  • A social media campaign began with the goal to persuade miHoYo into making the character more powerful. - Did anything result from this campaign? kline / talk / contribs 19:58, 15 February 2026 (UTC)Reply
    • Clarified that it went nowhere.

Japanese by Ayaka Fukuhara,
3bx.com Confirms the information, but is it possible for this to be replaced with a higher-quality source?
She noted on Genshin Impact's official podcast that the staff initially asked her to portray Dehya in a "sexy" direction during auditions, but that the character's final performance and recording gradually shifted toward a more mature, composed, and heroic temperament.
12youtube.com Assuming good faith as I cannot understand Japanese without a translator.
Her Elemental Skill increases the player's party's resistance to interruption, allowing other party members to keep attacking without being knocked over by an enemy and work as if they had a shield. Meanwhile, her Elemental Burst grants her Pyro-charged fists for a short period of time. Though able to push enemies away, it limits her attack range to what is directly in front of her and prevents other attacks from being used while it is active.

as well as her appearance.
18inverse.com No concerns.
16bgamesradar.com This does talk about her being highly anticipated, but there's no direct mention that it is due to her appearance. Might be fine to get rid of considering the statement is already backed by the previous one.
Stephanie Liu of Siliconera wrote that Dehya, despite gaining some viability in Genshin Impact's meta due to the addition of stronger support characters, was a "horrible unit".

According to NME, by March 9, 2023, the movement had garnered over 44,000 posts on Twitter using the hashtag "#FixDehya", and had begun trending on the website in Japan. Further ridicule towards the situation came when an update was made to her character that, rather than improving her abilities in combat, merely fixed a visual bug with her eye color.

Replying to the above source concerns:
  • For some reason, Japanese VA info in Genshin from reliable sources is hard to come across. The primary source is preferable to some other sources that may discuss it (which are generally low quality)
  • Removed the GamesRadar+ source from that specific instance
  • No, I do not think this Kotaku source suffers from content farm issues.

Agreed on the primary sourcing for the JP VA's. I personally find either the game itself or the game's official Japanese Twitter account as good sources for these (depending on the character). Gommeh (talk! sign!) 14:38, 17 February 2026 (UTC)Reply

@Gommeh and @NegativeMP1, here are some comments to work on. Will get sources preferably almost right after I finish writing this comment, but it will be my first time using Veracity, so bear with me. Cheers, kline / talk / contribs 19:58, 15 February 2026 (UTC)Reply

@Kline: Thank you for reviewing! I went through all of the above comments and addressed them. λ NegativeMP1 05:55, 17 February 2026 (UTC)Reply
@NegativeMP1 & @Gommeh; thanks for addressing all my concerns. I have nothing else I can pick out on a second look, so I'll pass this. Cheers, kline / talk / contribs 22:02, 17 February 2026 (UTC)Reply
