The political left-right spectrum is defined where left is government control over the means of production and right is private control over the means of production. How do we square the notion of "far right" somehow meaning "totalitarianism"? Under a totalitarian government, they would dictate and thus control all of the means of production. That would make any form of totalitarian government left not right. No, that is not how the political left-right spectrum is defined. Notice that your definition conflicts with the customary placing of many ideologies on the spectrum, not just fascism. For example, anarchism is considered far-left. Obviously, "left" cannot mean "government control" if anarchism is far-left. Just like "right" cannot mean "private control", because several big-government ideologies are on the right (not just fascism, but also, for example, absolute monarchism).

There are both totalitarian left governments, like Soviet Russia, and totalitarian right governments, like Nazi Germany. The left-right divide was originally between democratic reform and absolute monarchy, but these days it's normally a question of economics. Communism is far left, socialism is left, social democracy is centre-left, regulated capitalism is centre-right, neoliberalism/laissez faire capitalism is right, with systems like (techno)feudalism and corporatism being far-right. There is also a cultural axis between liberal cosmopolitanism and conservative nationalism, but that varies a lot between countries. the beginning of the thread is correct, left is more Government control, less private ownership, right is Private ownership, less Government, more freedoms.

You can argue like gun control ok left wants to take away guns believing it would make everyone safer, the right believes in the right to defend yourself.

Neither you nor the top commenter are correct. There might be a point here that it violates WP:DICDEF, but this is the WP:WRONGFORUM for that, and moving it to a new and inaccurate name won't help at all.
