I've deprodded this. This conference paper by V. Kraninkova has some discussion of this in relation to a customised version of Jumanji. The author cites a paper by Mahlmann et al in this respect. I can't access the page with the bibliography, but it may be this paper which is right on topic and by the right author. It looks at deck optimisation using the game Dominion as a test case. It does not use the exact phrase but Kraninkova does and confirms that that is what they are doing. There is also this paper which uses Hearthstone as a test case. All in all, there seems to be a surprising amount out there on this and related subjects. SpinningSpark15:11, 16 May 2022 (UTC)Reply
The search seems to be returning all pages that contain "deck" OR "optimization" so unlikely its useful. Besides which, a site trying to sell stuff is hardly going to be a reliable source. SpinningSpark15:17, 17 May 2022 (UTC)Reply
