18 December - Lord Caradon

The article stated under the 18th December that Lord Caradon, was "the British Foreign Secretary". Foot never held this role (which at the time was held by Michael Stewart, but was at this time a Minister of State for Foreign Affairs and indeed the "Foreign Secretary" claim linked to that role. Usually this would mean he was a junior minister under the Foreign Secretary, however in Caradon's case the situation was more complex. He was concurrently Permanent Representative of the United Kingdom to the United Nations, uniquely combining the roles throughout the first Wilson government. As it was, he was commenting more in his capacity as the UK's representaive to the UN I have rewritten as "Lord Caradon, the British Minister of State and Permanent Representative of the United Kingdom to the United Nations, told the General Assembly...".
