Talk:Deaths in January 1995

Format

Shouldn't these entries follow the same format as the other "Deaths in" pages? Name, age, occupation, and cause of death? The Deaths in January 1997 page is laid out differently to these, as are the other years pages. Inexpiable (talk) 09:42, 20 July 2021 (UTC)

Sure, feel free to update the articles with that content. I was originally basing my formatting off of the deaths section at 1995 which I was expanding; and then changed after other editors made suggestions along the way. Personally I like having the birth year and would prefer all 'Deaths in... articles' to have that in it as well as the person's age at the time of their death. Adding ages and causes of death, when known, is absolutely fine by me. Best.4meter4 (talk) 14:26, 20 July 2021 (UTC)

Format and other changes

This summer @4meter4: has done a great job forking the article Deaths_in_1995 into 12 separate month articles and updating them. You just beat me to it 4meter4 because I was planning to do that sometime next year after I finish processing the year 1996 (current status: processed 3 out of 12 months).
Just as @Inexpiable: I also noticed that the format of the entries differ from the years 1997–2021 (see section above). By now I have manually changed more entries to the new format than I care to admit so I know how tedious that task is. That's why I've written some code to change the entries automatically. I also applied some other changes to make this page more in line with the other deaths pages and adhere to the guidelines. Images and entries without a corresponding article were removed as well as the tags for every entry.
In the next few weeks I will update the other months (February – December 1995) as well. I also noticed that from the entries often the causes of death are missing. In the future I'll look into semi-automating that task. Regards Mill 1 (talk) 10:53, 10 October 2021 (UTC)

You're welcome and you're right; I also noticed the work you did on Deaths in 1995. I had the same experience a few years ago working on Deaths in 1999 btw. That page became soooo slow after a while.. Mill 1 (talk) 18:16, 10 October 2021 (UTC)
