Noteworthy individual?

In addition to the other concerns stated about this article, I don't see how this individual meets the WP notability standards. For that reason, I think this article should be deleted.

It's easy for grad students and postdocs to think of their advisors and mentors as being more important than they are. It is in their own self-interest to elevate their advisors & mentors as much as possible in order to elevate their own status as students of important professors. But an appearance on the American TV show Nova doesn't make this guy's contributions to research any more important or noteworthy. My own doctoral advisor and my postdoc mentor have both appeared numerous times on American network television, but that alone doesn't satisfy the WP notability standards.

Again, I think this article should be deleted. It appears to be a well intentioned attempt to elevate a good scientist to realms beyond simply being a good scientist. Dcs002 (talk) 01:50, 29 December 2012 (UTC)

I agree with all the others who have commented on the talk page that a merge is in order. The most difficult question is the direction of the merge, the choice being between a stage name (WP:STAGENAME) and a birth name which is commonly known in the field of Neuroscience. I recommend David Sulzer as both names are well known in their different spheres of influence, so the 'best known by' name (WP:NCP) is hard to determine; therefore suggest giving birth name precedence.
