History of the Houlton Band of Maliseet Indians Representatives

[edit]

David Slagger served as the first State Rep for the Houlton Band of Maliseet Indians and finished a partial term, then was succeeded by Henry Bear. While Henry Bear was serving a 2-year term, tribal leadership pulled the Representation from the Maine State House as relationships began to fracture between Maine Tribes and the State of Maine. It wasn't until 2025, when HBMI Tribal Council reinstated the Representation and held an election and Brian Reynolds was nominated and ran unopposed and won. He currently serves until 2027 Joshua1984Maliseet (talk) 20:15, 13 July 2026 (UTC)Reply
