Leonhardt no longer writes the morning newsletter; he's the "editorial director for New York Times Opinion, overseeing the editing and writing of editorials." This means he's moved from the newsroom back to opinion. And Ross Douthat isn't at the Times anymore. It can be hard to keep biographies of living individuals up to date, but the lede paragraph should not have half of its specific factual claims wrong.
