DR David D. Schein - updates

[edit]

I work with Dr. David D. Schein and Dr. Dave Saves America and therefore have a conflict of interest regarding this article. I am not requesting promotional language and will not directly edit the article. I would like to propose factual updates supported by reliable published sources for independent Wikipedia editors to review. ~2026-47717-05 (talk) 12:34, 1 September 2026 (UTC)Reply

COI / paid-editing disclosure
As noted above, I work with Dr. David D. Schein and Dr. Dave Saves America and have a conflict of interest regarding this article. I am acting on Dr. Schein's behalf for purposes of this request and will not edit the article directly.
If applicable under Wikipedia's paid-contribution rules, my employer/payer is Yudy Angelica Sanchez, and the client/subject on whose behalf I am making this request is Dr. David D. Schein / Dr. Dave Saves America.
I am requesting that an uninvolved editor review the following limited, neutral changes. I have intentionally excluded promotional language, audience-size claims, rankings, awards that are not independently sourced, guest lists, and other material that I do not believe is adequately supported for a biography of a living person.
1. Clarify Schein's political candidacies
The current article mentions his 1992 Texas House candidacy. I propose making that entry more precise and adding his separately documented 1996 Texas Senate primary candidacy:
In 1992, Schein was the Republican nominee for Texas House District 148. He lost the general election to Democrat Yolanda Navarro Flores, receiving 29.66 percent of the vote.[1]
In 1996, he sought the Republican nomination for Texas Senate District 15, receiving 32.29 percent of the primary vote and losing to Tom Kelly.[2]
I have used the percentage rather than an exact 1996 raw vote total because two Texas Secretary of State archival presentations differ slightly in the reported vote count while agreeing on the result and percentage.
2. Clarify his University of St. Thomas roles and the Cameron Chair term
The current article states in the present tense that Schein “holds Cameron Endowed Chair.” The University of St. Thomas source I located specifically lists the Cameron Chair of Management & Marketing term as 2021–2024, so I propose wording that does not imply an indefinite appointment:
At the University of St. Thomas, Schein has served as a professor, associate dean, and director of graduate programs at the Cameron School of Business.[3]
The university listed him as Cameron Chair of Management & Marketing for the 2021–2024 term.[4]
Independent reporting also identifies him as an employment-law and business-law professor at the Cameron School:

[6]
3. Add one neutral sentence about independently documented media work
I propose adding the following short sentence near the end of the Career section:
Schein has hosted the podcast Saving America.[7][8]
Kiplinger identified Schein as the host of Saving America in 2021, and The Daily Pennsylvanian independently described a 2025 interview as part of Schein's Saving America podcast series.
I am deliberately not requesting audience-size claims, rankings, lists of guests, or promotional descriptions. I am also not requesting that the newer “Dr. Dave Saves America” branding be added at this time because I have not located sufficiently strong independent secondary sourcing for that exact branding.
4. Improve the bibliography
I propose adding or correcting basic publisher and ISBN information where readily verifiable:
  • {{cite book
|last=Schein
|first=David D.
|title=Teaching Undergraduate Business Ethics
|publisher=Scholars' Press
|year=2014
|isbn=9783639709803
}}
  • {{cite book
|last=Schein
|first=David D.
|title=The Decline of America: 100 Years of Leadership Failures
|publisher=Post Hill Press
|year=2018
|isbn=9781682615034
}}
  • {{cite book
|last=Schein
|first=David D.
|title=Bad Deal for America
|year=2022
}}
5. Optional wording cleanup
The current article states that “His books have received multiple reviews including from the Houston Public Media.” Because the cited Houston Public Media source concerns the 2018 book specifically, I suggest the narrower wording:
His 2018 book The Decline of America: 100 Years of Leadership Failures received coverage from Houston Public Media.
I welcome any changes to wording, placement, citation formatting, or scope that an uninvolved editor considers necessary under WP:NPOV, WP:BLP, WP:DUE, or other Wikipedia policies. My goal is only to improve factual accuracy and sourcing rather than to promote Dr. Schein or Dr. Dave Saves America.
Thank you for reviewing the request. ~2026-47717-05 (talk) 14:24, 8 September 2026 (UTC) ~2026-47717-05 (talk) 14:24, 8 September 2026 (UTC)Reply
