Expand scope of article?

[edit]

This is an article on just a few short sentences in 1 Maccabees - just a name, pretty much. A permanent stub. Perhaps the article's scope should be expanded to essentially all of 1 Maccabees Chapter 5? Maccabee campaign in Palestine or something? The main problem is the title... the contemporary term would be to identify each land individually (Idumea, Galilee, Gilead, Samaria, etc.) but that would be unwieldly. "Coele-Syria" is too broad, that includes lots of territory that was unaffected. Modern scholars would use either "Palestine" or "Eretz Israel / Land of Israel", both of which are ahistorical, and will raise the ire of the side that prefers the "other" term. Any talk page watchers with an opinion on this out there? SnowFire (talk) 18:45, 11 November 2021 (UTC)Reply

I ended up just creating a new article, Maccabee campaigns of 163 BC, rather than moving / re-scoping this one. SnowFire (talk) 18:27, 18 November 2021 (UTC)Reply
