I came across Dataminr when reading the cited RT article; there seem to be dozens of reports on it, in major media outlets like IB Times, NY Post, Newsweek, Fortune, etc; these aren't passing mentions, these are articles about Dataminr. Ethanbas (talk) 05:44, 23 March 2017 (UTC)Reply

Dataminr Representative Transparency

[edit]

Hello! My name is Jeff Gordon, and I work in corporate communications for Dataminr. As a representative of the company this entry is about, I have read and understand the rules of the Wikipedia community and am here to contribute in good faith and full transparency. I look forward to collaborating with you all.

The entry currently mentions two of Dataminr's four main products, Dataminr Pulse and First Alert. I was hoping the community would consider adding the other two:

  • Dataminr Pulse for Cyber Risk is used to discover real-time risks about cyber and cyber-physical threats. (Source)
  • Dataminr for News is used by news organizations worldwide, such as CNN and USA Today, to discover the earliest possible indications of breaking news. (Source)

Would the community be open to these two additions? Thank you. JeffGordon-Dataminr (talk) 17:28, 26 March 2025 (UTC)Reply

oppose. first source not notable, second source over a decade old and does not clearly demonstrate that it is still used. Secarctangent (talk) 23:08, 26 March 2025 (UTC)Reply
Thanks for that feedback. Would you be open to sourcing both product references from this Fox Business article published in November 2023?

The company has developed a range of proprietary AI models that underpin its Dataminr Pulse products tailored for use cases like corporate security and cyber risk, as well as First Alert for public sector entities and NGOs like the UN and Dataminr for News which is used by newsrooms worldwide.

Pretty clearly a press release turned into an article. Not clearly NPOV.

Unsourced similar applications

[edit]

Recommend deletion of the unsourced statement: "Similar applications can be achieved by data vendors such as Feedly, Semantic Visions, Raven Pack, Signal AI, and more." The vendors listed are news aggregators, media monitoring, and analytics, none of which are comparable to Dataminr's applications. At minimum, the claim should be sourced.  Preceding unsigned comment added by JeffGordon-Dataminr (talkcontribs) 18:37, 14 July 2025 (UTC)Reply
