Notability

[edit]

As per Wikipedia:Notability (music), the Daptone Records label is notable for the following reasons:

1. It has been the subject of multiple non-trivial published works whose source is independent from the musician/ensemble itself and reliable. (Articles in Wax Poetics)
4. Has gone on an international concert tour, or a national concert tour in at least one sovereign country, reported in reliable sources. (Bands from this label have toured over North America and Europe repeatedly)
6. Contains at least one member who was once a part of or later joined a band that is otherwise notable; (Some musicians on the label toured with Amy Winehouse)
7. Has become the most prominent representative of a notable style. (Daptone is on the forefront of the Deep Funk music scene)
10. Has performed music for a work of media that is notable, e.g. a theme for a network television show, performance in a television show or notable film, inclusion on a compilation album, etc. (Music from the label has appeared in various TV commercials)

I will continue to add info when I have the time. --Blahm 18:21, 21 August 2007 (UTC)Reply

Sleeping Dogs

[edit]

The video game Sleeping Dogs has a radio station consisting entirely of songs from Daptone Records; should this be included in the article? Kouban (talk) 19:01, 9 August 2015 (UTC)Reply
