Hello editors, I intend to update the section currently titled “‘Bike Boy’ conspiracy theory” to “2013 Blairgowrie collision and the ‘Bike Boy’ controversy” in order to bring it into line with Wikipedia’s core content policies: WP:NPOV, WP:BLP, WP:V, and WP:UNDUE. The current wording includes politically-loaded descriptors such as “conspiracy theorists,” “far-right activists,” and “pandemic lockdown opponents” which are sourced to a single interpretive news article. These terms do not reflect the broader, long-running coverage of the incident and do not meet the neutrality requirements for a biography of a living person. The proposed revision:
The updated draft remains strictly neutral and tightly sourced. It avoids all editorial tone and presents only what is documented in RS, in line with comparable entries on political figures. I will proceed with the update shortly unless there are objections grounded in policy. Thank you. Vinluna (talk) 00:47, 3 December 2025 (UTC)

- Vinluna, I have collapsed the above discussion, as a large portion of your comments are apparently generated by a large language model (LLM), such as an AI chatbot. You are welcome to present your arguments in your own words. — Newslinger talk 05:21, 3 December 2025 (UTC)
- @Newslinger cheers. TarnishedPathtalk 05:28, 3 December 2025 (UTC)
- A grammar and spell check do not qualify as AI written. And, 'apparently' is an assumption. I’ve written all of my comments myself and stand by the policy points I’ve raised which, took me some time to learn and understand. WIKI isn't the easiest environment to navigate.
- I’m concerned that the discussion has collapsed simply because an editor is frustrated that I’m applying Wikipedia’s own policies to this section. The core issues remain the same: WP:BLP, WP:RS, and WP:UNDUE concerns with the current wording.
- I’m not here to argue, and I’m not pushing any political viewpoint. I’m trying to improve a single section that clearly has problems under these policies, and so far I haven’t been shown a policy-based reason why the proposed text does not meet Wikipedia’s criteria. Can we please focus on the content and the relevant policies. Vinluna (talk) 05:49, 3 December 2025 (UTC)
- Vinluna, your comments were clearly LLM-generated, and did not solely use AI for "A grammar and spell check". A dedicated grammar checker would not transform your comments into the format and style used by LLM outputs. If you want to participate on Wikipedia talk pages, you will need to write your comments yourself. — Newslinger talk 05:58, 3 December 2025 (UTC)
- That's your opinion. I disagree. Up until this point, neither you or the previous editor addressed the issue. Please restate the full chat. I am entitled to that courtesy. And, let's focus on the points I have raised and improve the section, of which the core issues remain the same: WP:BLP, WP:RS, and WP:UNDUE concerns with the current wording. Vinluna (talk) 06:10, 3 December 2025 (UTC)
- In your edits Special:Diff/1313080326 and Special:Diff/1313098656, you inserted links that were generated by ChatGPT into your related draft Draft:2013 Blairgowrie collision and the Bike Boy controversy. Please note that using an LLM to generate articles on Wikipedia from scratch is prohibited, and that LLMs should not be used to generate content on Wikipedia, especially without disclosure. — Newslinger talk 06:14, 3 December 2025 (UTC)
- You've yet to describe exactly how the section is a BLP violation, how it is UNDUE (without relying on either Herald Sun or News.com.au) or how there is any violation of the WP:RS guideline.
- For the awareness of other editors Vinluna authored Draft:2013 Blairgowrie collision and the Bike Boy controversy for which half the references are Herald Sun and which uses three primary sources, including two court documents. The draft is a BLP violation and should probably be deleted. TarnishedPathtalk 06:15, 3 December 2025 (UTC)
- Stating "WP:BLP, WP:RS, and WP:UNDUE" over and over doesn't support your argument. TarnishedPathtalk 06:16, 3 December 2025 (UTC)
- Your references are to links, not the content. I wrote the content in its entirety. A spell check and grammar check does not imply anything beyond good practice. I’m not going to engage further in speculation about how my comments were written.
- My contributions are my own. If any editor believes there is improper use of tools, the correct venue is WP:ANI, not continued accusations here.
- On the content: I’ve explained the specific BLP, UNDUE, and RS concerns with the current section. Personal views about which newspapers editors like or dislike aren't relevant under any policy.
- If anyone has specific, line-by-line policy concerns about the draft wording, please cite the exact sentence and the exact policy, and I’m happy to address it. Otherwise, let's pause here and allow additional editors to comment. Vinluna (talk) 06:26, 3 December 2025 (UTC)
- The links provided by Newslinger above (Special:Diff/1313080326 and Special:Diff/1313098656) prove that you have used ChatGPT. Please don't take us for fools. TarnishedPathtalk 06:31, 3 December 2025 (UTC)
- I addressed the 'links'. It's a non-issue.
- I provided sound reasoning to update the section. You seem focused on protecting the existing section, despite my clear reasons for improving it. I sense responses as argumentative, personal attacks on my ability to communicate, and, an editors dislike for the Herald-Sun newspaper.
- I am requesting you recuse yourself, and I invite senior editors to join this conversation. My sole aim is to improve the section. A dedicated and unbiased editor would have helped do so by now. Vinluna (talk) 06:52, 3 December 2025 (UTC)
- Posting LLM-generated comments and creating articles with an LLM without proper disclosure are inappropriate and will lead to you losing your editing privileges, regardless of whether you "disagree" or think that it is a "non-issue". — Newslinger talk 09:30, 3 December 2025 (UTC)
- I’m not going to continue engaging with accusations about how my comments were written. My contributions are my own. If you genuinely believe there is a conduct issue, please take it to WP:ANI so it can be reviewed by uninvolved administrators. I’m here to discuss content and policy, and I’ll continue to respond to specific, policy-based concerns about the section wording.
- Also, for transparency and to allow other editors to follow the discussion, it would be helpful if User:Newslinger restored (uncollapse) the thread the user collapsed earlier so the full context remains visible. Thank you. Vinluna (talk) 09:50, 3 December 2025 (UTC)
- Vinluna, you might not have noticed but Newslinger is an uninvolved admin. TarnishedPathtalk 09:52, 3 December 2025 (UTC)
- Your comments here should absolutely not be uncollapsed, see the WP:AITALK guideline.

- Vinluna I'm not here to WP:SATISFY you. Take the reliability of Herald Sun to WP:RS/N or don't. Either way you currently don't have consensus for any changes. TarnishedPathtalk 09:51, 3 December 2025 (UTC)

- This whloe matter is tl;dr and the use of AI in talk page discussions ensures that I will not read it. Thank you, whoever pinged me, for the ping. @Newslinger I see WP:NOTHERE and WP:CIR, and a lack of collegiality from their use of AI. 🇵🇸🇺🇦 FiddleTimtrent FaddleTalk to me 🇺🇦🇵🇸 10:21, 3 December 2025 (UTC)

- SMH and the Hun have picked it up. Also paywalled. I'm sure their ABC will run it, they are reliably pro Chairman Dan. Greglocock (talk) 23:18, 13 March 2026 (UTC)
- Are you saying the SMH and the Hun are anti-Chairman Dan? HiLo48 (talk) 23:44, 13 March 2026 (UTC)
- No , that's an odd interpretation. I only ever read those rags when I'm waiting for a haircut, I don't really know what their position is on him, or the whole bikeboy story . Greglocock (talk) 00:08, 14 March 2026 (UTC)
