USS Henderson?

The following statement appears in this article:

Fields served during World War I in the U.S. Navy from December 1917 to September 1921. He was assigned as a clarinetist aboard the USS Henderson (AP-1), a hospital ship.[1]

However, the article for the USS Henderson (AP-1) states that it did not become a hospital ship until 1943. Can someone more familiar with the subject matter help resolve this seeming discrepancy? Thanks KConWiki (talk) 02:56, 7 October 2014 (UTC)Reply
