DLC → DLC (disambiguation) – To make DLC a WP:PRIMARYREDIRECT to Downloadable content. It's the clear primary topic from pageviews and WikiNav, and DLC is probably the common name for downloadable content anyway, but that's a separate issue. - Support per nom, I don't see an obvious competitor for primary topic. I furthermore support moving Downloadable content to DLC as the primary topic. ᴢxᴄᴠʙɴᴍ (ᴛ) 07:32, 22 December 2025 (UTC)
- Moving downloadable content to DLC might merit its own discussion; I'm not entirely sure if it fits per ACROTITLE. Thanks, Glasspalace (talk • contribs) 07:55, 22 December 2025 (UTC)

- Support as per nom. 162 etc. (talk) 17:20, 22 December 2025 (UTC)
- Oppose. No primary redirect or topic by long-term significance. -- Necrothesp (talk) 11:34, 23 December 2025 (UTC)
- Support; this is clearly the common meaning of the initialism. Thanks, 1isall (he/him) (talk | contribs) 16:03, 24 December 2025 (UTC)
- Per WP:DPT, let's have a look at some standard statistics.
- With 459 views at DLC, we could identify 103 clicks to the proposed primary topic. There were another 49 identifiable clicks, and 51 filtered. That is not actually an indicator of there being a primary topic, because it's roughly 50 : 50 with clicks, and possibly only ~22% of views.
- We see a similar picture, the proposed item is at the top, but followed by a number of other articles with significant reader interest.
- I think a more coherent argument would be needed to override the ambiguity seen in statistics. (Oppose) --Joy (talk) 22:23, 27 December 2025 (UTC)
- There is no instance of the term "DLC" in either Insurance policy, Library of Congress, or Loughborough University; I've removed them from the dabpage per WP:DABMENTION.
- It's also quite likely that most of the views at the CAN bus article are unrelated to "DLC". The Data Length Code redirect has had 20 clicks all year. 162 etc. (talk) 08:10, 29 December 2025 (UTC)
- I agree. I ignored all of those when assessing the mass views output.
- The issue is that Downloadable content's 588 / day is at the top, but not substantially larger than Dioxin-like compounds' 334 / day plus Diamond-like carbon's 145 / day plus Democratic Leadership Council's 81 / day, and so forth. --Joy (talk) 08:40, 29 December 2025 (UTC)
- Oppose. In view of the many other meanings at the DAB, I don't see any case for Downloadable content being the primary topic, which requires it to stack up against all other meanings taken together. Andrewa (talk) 07:01, 28 December 2025 (UTC)
- Support, I think downloadable content is the PRIMARYTOPIC for DLC, and I'm sure any measurable metric would agree.--Ortizesp (talk) 22:10, 29 December 2025 (UTC)
- Support per nom. Pageviews show primary topic. Guz13 (talk) 02:13, 3 January 2026 (UTC)
- Relisting comment: Re-opening RM per discussion on my talkpage. Vestrian24Bio 12:16, 7 January 2026 (UTC)
- @Guz13 requested that I move some of that in here:
- With regard to reading the output of WikiNav - the key point is that anonymization shouldn't mean that anonymized user choices are completely discarded from our understanding. Likewise for views that don't translate into clicks.
- With regard to reading the output of these all-time mass views statistics - if we look at that list and try to use that to check this WP:PTOPIC criterion:
A topic is primary for a term with respect to usage if it is highly likely—much more likely than any other single topic, and more likely than all the other topics combined—to be the topic sought when a reader searches for that term.
- We see that the gaming article is more likely to be sought by readers than any other single topic. That much is clear because it's far ahead at the top (588 vs. 334). One could plausibly make a case that there's other ways to measure this that would produce different results, but this still seems like a reasonable way to try to measure.
- But, it's not clear that it's more likely to be sought than all the other topics combined. If the combined readership of those other topics, 334+145+81+79+76+... surpasses the readership of the gaming article (588), then that's a hint to us that this criterion isn't met.
- So that's why there's doubt in the first criterion.
- And then on top of that there's doubt in the second criterion, long-term significance. That hasn't been discussed at all, really. Why would the gaming topic be more significant than all the others? I wouldn't know. Nobody provided a good argument in that regard, we just had vague appeals to WP:common sense. --Joy (talk) 06:44, 8 January 2026 (UTC)
- Oppose per Andrewa and Joy. For a three-letter abbreviation, the bar for a primary topic clearly needs to be higher than for a simple name, and while downloadable content may individually have the highest page view count, it isn't sufficiently a household abbreviation to achieve universal WP:RECOGNISE value over and above all the other myriad topics. Far better to leave as is. — Amakuru (talk) 12:20, 7 January 2026 (UTC)
- Support per nom. I am sure almost everyone knows DLC as Downloadable Content. Babin Mew (talk) 08:28, 11 January 2026 (UTC)
- This is an invalid argument, per WP:NWFCTM... We are an encyclopedia, not a directory of popular culture. — Amakuru (talk) 16:59, 13 January 2026 (UTC)
- Support! The issue isn't how popular the article for downloadable content is compared to the others--it's that plus how often the others are even referred to as DLC. I don't think any of the other articles listed here are commonly referred to as DLC. It's a clear WP:PRIMARYTOPIC. Red Slash 16:26, 13 January 2026 (UTC)
- Actually, diamond-like carbon is commonly referred to as DLC, and if you search for the abbreviation in a books or scholar search rather than normal Google, that's overwhelmingly what comes up. By long-term significance and common usage outside the gaming community, "downloadable content" is emphatically not the primary topic here. — Amakuru (talk) 16:59, 13 January 2026 (UTC)
- The other mentioned articles, like Dioxins and dioxin-like compounds and the Democratic Leadership Council, all use the acronym. Likewise for dual-listed company, Driver License Compact, etc. That's the problem with three-letter acronyms, they're generally popular. --Joy (talk) 19:05, 13 January 2026 (UTC)
- Oppose per the same rationale as oppose !votes above. This is a three-letter acronym with numerous highly notable uses as such, none of which predominates over all others combined. BD2412 T 01:43, 14 January 2026 (UTC)
