I've made several changes to bring this article closer to B-class standards:

Inline citations: Added 20 inline citations from 16 verified sources including the DACOR website, ProPublica Nonprofit Explorer, Congress.gov, Library of Congress (HABS), DC Historic Sites, ADST, UDC, and the Foreign Service Journal.
Lead expanded: Added a third paragraph summarizing the Foreign Service Cup, ADST-DACOR book series, Rock Creek Cemetery memorial services, and the 2025 bicentennial.
Sections merged: Combined the thin "Impact" and "Advocacy" sections into a single "Impact and advocacy" section.
Factual corrections: Updated the UDC mentoring agreement date from January 2021 to September 10, 2021 per UDC's own press release; updated ADST-DACOR book count from 50+ to 75+ per ADST; updated oral history interview count from 1,800+ to 2,600+ per ADST.
New details from sources: Added membership count (~2,600), tax-exempt date (1956), NRHP listing date (July 26, 1973), memorial section dedication (1964), monument inscription, book series founding year (1996), and Gantenbein Fellowship amount.
Quote correction: Replaced the unverifiable "hub of the diplomatic world" attribution (no indexed source found for 2019 AFSA usage) with a verified quote from J. Thomas Brannan's January–February 2025 Foreign Service Journal article.
Tone: Replaced "Numerous prominent people" with neutral phrasing.

All citation URLs were verified as live on February 20, 2026. The Washington Post letter (May 28, 2021) is cited without a URL as it is behind a paywall.
