Botanical provenance
[edit]Due to the cultural and botanical diversity within, not all paper made artisanally in Vietnam is from Rhamnoneuron balansae. For example, the picture cited from Dia Tren, Quảng Uyên actually uses Broussonetia papyrifera, which is instead called dướng in Vietnamese. Since several plants are domestically used in a similar manner as Rhamnoneuron to provision paper, other plants in Vietnam (especially confamilials in the Thymelaeaceae) may be called "dó", including Wikstroemia indica and Linostoma persimile.
