Questionable dates

[edit]

This article states the bishop's period in office as "c917–c928" while the List of bishops of Rochester states "c.926 to c.934". Can someone please try to resolve this discrepancy. The only cited reference from either article that is available online starts at 1066 and I do not have access to the other cited references. To maintain the encyclopedic nature of this information, I have tagged these dates in both atricles as {{Dubious}}. Truthanado (talk) 17:02, 25 July 2009 (UTC)Reply

I've updated the dates in this article to the newest dates given in Handbook of British Chronology. Note that I've not yet reached "Rochester" so the dates in the individual bishop articles haven't been reconciled with the dates in List of bishops of Rochester. The dates given here should be considered as definitive as anything can be when dealing with the time frame, and if you're worried about it, the list article can be revised to give these dates. The List article uses as its base an outdated reference, Hayden's Book of Diginities which was originally published in 1894, and is out of date. Ealdgyth - Talk 17:14, 25 July 2009 (UTC)Reply
