The word "mandible" was a wikilink. This linked to an article that, as is too often the case, is only about the vertebrate. In this case the vetebrate jawbone. But mandible is a word with a much broader meaning in animals. Crustaceans, insects, and other invertebrates have mandibles, and none of these is mentioned at all in the mandible article.
