no longer has a mid-range pricing strategy

"its popularity is attributed to its mid-range pricing strategy" no longer holds true. They have become as expensive as Amberleaf and Golden Virginia. It's popularity imho is the superiority of its blend. It's called Cutter's choice because it's the smoke of choice of the tobacco cutters themselves. At least that's the mythos behind the brand. As of today the price of Cutter's Choice original 50g in the UK is £43.45. exact same price as both Amber Leaf and Golden Virginia. With the exorbitant taxes placed by Westminster, the best cuts of tobacco HAD to be set at a minimum price that guarantees a profit and their sustainability, ergo Cutter's choice should be at the same quality as Amber and Golden V. or it wouldn't be priced identically. Furthermore all 3 brands are made by different tobacco companies, so i highly doubt it's a case of blanket price-fixing. the only price-fixing done in the British Tobacco industry is by number 11! xox

such a con aswell! if you take the NHS bills for lung cancer and other smoker related disease and tot them up against the revenue brought in by tobacco sales, you would find smokers could increase their mortality rates by 1000% and we would still be running a net profit off them! -_- (1000% may be an exaggeration, but not a Gross exaggeration!! {i am not anal retentive enough to actually delve into the statistics and find out the exact ratios})

As Sir Humphrey Appleby so eloquently put it: "Yes, but cigarette taxes pay for a third of the cost of the National Health service. We're saving many more lives than we otherwise could, because of those smokers who voluntary lay down their lives for their friends. Smokers are national benefactors" and that was in the 80's! cigarette tax revenue has increasedand increased and then exploded at tail end of New Labour.
