I think its important to note that in late 2010 I discovered a group of nutting stones along side an agate basin kill site. I took them home and did months of research and came to the conclusion that these "nutting stones" are in fact one of, if not the earliest known form of long distance communication. They are normally made from green granite and produce a loud whistle capable of being heard at distances of 600 plus meters. Probably used by hunters in the palio times to coordinate herding or a drive to a specific location, usually located at the highest point in elevation (cliff) from the creek or river bottom below, to aid in the penetration of early spears. Each hunter would have a "nutting stone" or better known "WHISTLE" to aid in communication to successfully carryout a precisely choreographed drive.
