Senior judge Paik Jong-won is a celebrity chef in Korea.

• ... that the judges of the Culinary Class Wars (pictured) were blindfolded and spoon-fed?

• Source: The blind taste test in which two grown men in three-piece suits are blindfolded and spoon-fed is hilarious. It must be nerve-racking for the judges too, surrending to whatever goes into their mouths.

• ALT1 ... that the judges of the Culinary Class Wars suffered from over-eating but judge Paik Jong-won (pictured) still ate his packed lunch too?

• Source: They suffered from being so full all the time on the show because of tasting everything, but what was truly amazing to witness was Mr. Paik eating dosirak (packed meal) off-camera, after judging!

• ALT2 ... that the dishes in the Culinary Class Wars were discarded after judging to prevent others from tasting them and disagreeing with the judges? (pictured)

• Source: Neither the contestants nor the production crew were allowed even a morsel of the leftovers for fear that they might have differing opinions about the dishes that had been evaluated by the judges, which could potentially cause conflict on the set.

• At the time of nomination the article was exactly 7 days old (which fits I guess), and the length seems to fit standard. There are some good English sources and a lot of Korean coverage, so I don't doubt that this is notable. Earwig says no copyvios, but the article is a bit messy. (Why does the "endless cooking hell" section have nothing in it, for one?) Most importantly, the hook is also little bit vague, and I don't think it would capture much attention. • @Z1720: Thanks to Z1720 for taking an interest. I'm not understanding Wuju Daisuki's objections to the ALT1 hook, which seems fine to me. Maybe we just have different tastes. • @Andrew Davidson: My opinion is that I am confused by ALT1 because I do not know who Paik Jong-won is. After looking at the image caption and clicking on Jong-won's link I was able to piece together that he is a judge, but it takes too long for me to understand the hook. I like ALT0 more because it is succinct and understandable. If the image is going to be used, it needs to be included in the article. Z1720 (talk) 11:36, 31 October 2024 (UTC)

Okay, so ALT2 is currently unusable per above, but ALT1 is unencyclopedic and has been cut from the article and ALT0 would require an end-of-sentence citation. Also, as written this would deserve {{overly detailed}} and much of this needs to go.--Launchballer 12:01, 14 November 2024 (UTC)

  I've responded repeatedly to this, suggesting ALTs and tweaking them. But the editors on the reviewing side have not been consistent and so we have "too many cooks". It might help if we hear again from the original reviewer, @Wuju Daisuki:, as they seem to have some knowledge of Korean culture. Andrew🐉(talk) 12:25, 28 November 2024 (UTC)

Wuju Daisuki hasn't edited in over a week and this nomination in nearly a month (it had been more than a week at the time I took over). This isn't so much "too many cooks" as "the previous cook's gone" (and you shouldn't need knowledge of Korean culture to understand this). Also, this edit introduced at least two unreliable sources and unencyclopedic content and none of my concerns from 14 November have been resolved.--Launchballer 00:56, 29 November 2024 (UTC)

This article is pretty juicy; should be used to flesh this article out. I may not get around to it. Side note I'm relieved the show came out; while creating articles for List of Michelin-starred restaurants in South Korea, it was worrying to see so many that were closing or struggling financially. Judges section

Not sure sentence “ They became full from tasting so much food during the contest but Paik still ate his packed lunch too.” is necessary. A cute detail and sourced accurately, but not fit for Wikipedia. ~2025-44214-76 (talk) 23:51, 31 December 2025 (UTC)

• There were only two judges and they had a lot of tasting to do as there were many contestants. And they ate quite substantial mouthfuls when they tasted the dishes. Watching the first season, I was wondering how they were coping with so much food and so it was good to find a source discussing this. And watching season 2 now, I see that Paik is still packing it away, taking multiple mighty mouthfuls of a mushroom burger, for example. Andrew🐉(talk) 22:01, 8 January 2026 (UTC)

Lee Ha Sung final dish

The information is wildly incorrect. Lee made sundaeguk, a type of stew with Korean sausage, not a salad. Furthermore, while his father was brought up, it had to do with going to a bathhouse together every Sunday and then getting the soup with him afterwards. ~2026-31052-2 (talk) 05:37, 15 January 2026 (UTC)
