Electrons with antiparallel spin form a fermi heap , higher density, higher electric repulsion. This is correlated with Hunds rule that parallel spins are of lower energy.

Electronpair bonding is not because of lower electronic repulsion. Its because of delocalisation ( lower kinetic energy) and nucleus electron attraction (lower potential energy.

Langmuir

In his 1919 paper, Langmuir did not propose a cubical atom, but a series of concentric spherical shell and thus a spherical atom. Only the second shell is divided into 8 cells, each containing a stationary electron. In his drawings of molecules, there are cubical arrangements of electrons in an atom, but he clarifies: "The lines connecting the electrons in these figures are used merely to give a better perspective of the arrangement of the electrons and of course should not be taken as representing the boundaries of the atoms."
