I feel certain the tension in the drill line never approaches 1,000,000 pounds. A very heavy casing string might give such hook loads, but typically as many as 12 lines are strung — thus drill line tension reaches only 100,000 pounds or thereabouts. Actually this paragraph doesn't especially apply to Crown Block; this info should be elsewhere (e.g., ,Drill Line) Casey (talk) 01:39, 2 March 2019 (UTC)Reply
