The portion about the Sitio Torril Cross being the one brought by Fray Plasencia and Fray Oropesa is doubtful. According to church expert Regalado "Ricky" Trota Jose (historical and cultural consultant to the Catholic Bishops' Conference of the Philippines), the design of the cross belongs to the late Baroque period, and can be dated to the late 17th century. I am still looking for the original interview notes and other research materials I had during my work with the Parish Committee on Church Cultural Heritage (of the St. Francis of Assisi Parish) and, in due time, will incorporate new revisions to this and other related articles.
