The article states: "CRITICOM(M) is an abbreviation for "Critical Intelligence Communications [System]" q.v. National Security Agency (NSA) former flash-intelligence alert and warning system." That's not quite true. CRITICOMM was also intended (and used) by field stations staffed by the USN, USA, and USAF for communicating to NSA (and others) the fruits of their raw intelligence collection. Field stations (and others) could also send CRITIC messages to NSA if the intelligence collection revealed information of critical importance to the U.S. Government. (I worked in Criticomm units for nearly all my 20-year USN career, except for one tour at NAVSECGRU Hq. and another tour in basic USN schooling.)
