Q1: Why is the band's genre extreme metal? Why is it not X?
A1: The policy of this page is to adhere to Wikipedia's NPOV rules regarding Cradle of Filth's genre: "The policy requires that, where there are or have been conflicting views, these should be presented fairly, but not asserted. All significant points of view are presented, not just the most popular one. It should not be asserted that the most popular view or some sort of intermediate view among the different views is the correct one. Readers are left to form their own opinions." With this in mind, we report the fact that nobody can agree on a genre, and we use the terms "extreme metal", "heavy metal" and "metal" in their non-specific, "umbrella" sense to describe what sort of band they are. All discussions on this subject, going back years at this point, are archived here. Before adding anything further here, or changing the genre on the main page, please read the archive and the whole of the main page including the genre section (ie. not just the infobox and the first line of the first paragraph). | Cradle of Filth was a good articles nominee, but did not meet the good article criteria at the time. There may be suggestions below for improving the article. Once these issues have been addressed, the article can be renominated. Editors may also seek a reassessment of the decision if they believe there was a mistake. | |||||||||

Kelsey Peters
[edit]From recent reports about the upcoming album and the works, it looks like Kelsey Peters has joined the band, as she is seen in the band promotion photos. I am trying to find a source for when she joined as an official member, but the closest I can find is an Instagram post by Dani Filth. Is there any other sources that would confirm that she had joined the band? HorrorLover555 (talk) 16:59, 27 July 2026 (UTC)

[edit]That's a really excellent picture of Dani Filth from... 2015. Wouldn't it make more sense to use a picture of him (or the band) from say, 1991–1996 ?, and perhaps move this picture down to section regarding the 2014–2022 time period? I mean I get that he is the founding member, so it makes a certain sense to use this picture here, but surely we can find some image more appropriate to this section.
