c-word reference

[edit]

Seems like the importance of this use of c-word is overstated by being in the first paragraph. This might be more appropriate to note in the "Pejorative usage" section with some qualifications. C-word does not mean cracker to most people. JohnRipa (talk) 18:05, 15 April 2026 (UTC)Reply

  •  Done - I agree completely. I've never even heard it called the C-word. I have heard cunt referred to as the C-word, however, and I am pretty sure that most people (at least native English speakers, particularly in the USA) would agree that it isn't common as a reference to "cracker". Since it is cited, I moved it down per your note. Dennis Brown - 2¢ 08:49, 16 April 2026 (UTC)Reply
Thank you and agreeing. Given that the claimed "C-word" euphemism was not previously referenced in the body of the article, it did not belong in the lead per MOS:LEAD. The source looks to be of sufficiently high quality that moving this sourced claim down to the appropriate article section looks like the best solution. Move to Cracker (slang)?

[edit]

Like other slang related articles shouldn't it be titled as Cracker (slang)? "Term" seems so vague and ambiguous. — Hemant Dabral (📞) 06:47, 19 April 2026 (UTC)Reply

This is a truly terrible idea. CAVincent (talk) 08:32, 19 April 2026 (UTC)Reply
