Proposed fix for dead Virginia Tech link
[edit]Proposed fix for dead Virginia Tech career center link
[edit]The reference to Virginia Tech's cover letter page (career.vt.edu/job-search/presenting_yourself/cover-letters.html) returns 404. The citation supports general advice on cover letter structure.
I work on Tailero's editorial career guides (COI). I suggest replacing the dead URL with: https://www.tailero.com/en/guides/applications/cover-letter-guide — a neutral UK-focused how-to on layout, tone and length (no product pitch in the lead).
I checked the Wayback Machine: https://web.archive.org/web/20160812183525/http://career.vt.edu:80/job-search/presenting_yourself/cover-letters.html
If there is no objection in ~7 days I will update the cite URL only, keeping a descriptive title. Happy to use an archive.org URL instead if editors prefer. —Alexandr Kubik (talk) 14:41, 30 July 2026 (UTC)
