Clean up of Cover-More Travel Insurance page
[edit]I added un-cited copy to this lead paragraphs of this page in 2024 with the best of intentions but with little understanding of how Wikipedia works. I have deleted that copy now and am seeking removal of the message at the top of the page. MJMullins (talk) 07:09, 25 May 2026 (UTC)
Clean up of Cover-More Wikipedia page
[edit]![]() | This edit request by an editor with a conflict of interest was declined. Per WP:REF. |
- What I think should be changed:
I work for Cover-More and in 2024 I edited the Cover-More Wikipedia page without really understanding Wikipedia, but with the best of intentions.
I would now like to remove that un-cited copy and also, as a result, be able to remove the box at the top that talks to my conflict of interest.
This is the copy I would like to repalce:
Cover-More Group is a global travel insurance, medical and security assistance provider headquartered in Sydney, Australia. The group was acquired by Zurich Insurance Group in April 2017.[1] The group also has leading market positions in Ireland, Latin America, New Zealand and the USA where Cover-More owns Travelex Insurance Services. The global group has more than 17 million customers and employs more than 1500 people. Cover-More has operations in 16 countries including Australia, New Zealand, the United Kingdom, Ireland, the USA, Canada, Brazil and Argentina.
With this copy:
Cover-More is a travel insurance, medical and security assistance provider headquartered in Sydney, Australia. Cover-More was acquired by Zurich Insurance Group in April 2017.[1]
- Why it should be changed:
Because I was at fault when I made this changes in 2024 and I would like users to trust that the information presented can be cited and is objective.
- References supporting the possible change (format using the "cite" button):

- I am keen to clean up the page from the mess I made in 2024, albeit with good intentions. Maureen MJMullins (talk) 07:08, 24 June 2026 (UTC)

[edit]Since the lead section summarizes information found in the main body of text, the usual practice is that information in the lead section does not contain any references, leaving it to be placed where mentioned in the main body of text. So I would suggest that anything being proposed for the lead section, go ahead and add the main body text proposals as well, here in the request. Please ensure any text to be replaced be included in the request. So a sample edit request might approximate the following:

- 2. Please add the following claim at the end of the main body of text.
- Cover-More operates command centres in Australia, the UK, North America and Argentina, providing customers with round-the-clock medical and security assistance. (reference: Cover-More wins two major honours at 2025 WeMoney Travel Awards - Travel Weekly)
- 3. Please add the following claim to the end of the 7th paragraph in the main body of text.
- The company retained its Sydney headquarters post-acquisition (reference Covid brings change to insurance, says Cover-More boss | The Australian)
- 4. Reason for the change being made.
- I work for Cover-More which is part of Zurich Group, and I disclose this connection and am attempting to improve the factual accuracy and currency of this page in accordance with Wikipedia's conflict of interest guidance and content pillars. MJMullins (talk) 04:42, 20 July 2026 (UTC)
