Chocolate Jesus sculpted in Australia 13 years ago

[edit]

The Canberra Times of 7 April 2007 reports that a full-size chocolate Jesus on a pine cross was exhibited in the shop-window gallery, Artstop, in Canberra over Easter in 1994. It was entitled Transubstantiation 2 and was created by Richard Manderson.

Its stated purpose was to prompt reflection on the way that Easter, itself having taken over pre-Christian celebrations of spring and fecundity, has now been largely commercialised into a festival of chocolate consumption, quite at odds with the events of Jesus' crucifixion.

After Easter, the sculpture was taken down and shared among a crowd of Canberrans.

Religion?

[edit]

The Bill Donahue mentions he is accused of being irreligious, or at least not Christian. Are there any sources where he mentions his religion? 92.0.150.111 (talk) 09:31, 2 June 2009 (UTC)Reply
