Proprietary Instrument?
[edit]The very first sentence says it's "a proprietary instrument". But... didn't *every* musical instrument ever made start out as proprietary? According to Wolf's website, the instrument was created in 2001. It says it has "found widespread use worldwide" in that time. After 23 years, is it *really* still considered proprietary, or does it have to be mass produced first?
PowerThesaurus.org lists "nonpatentable" as an antonym for "proprietary. So, let's look at German patents law. DPMA.de says "An invention is protected for 20 years", which means the patent for the Contraforte expired 3 years ago.
PowerThesaurus.org also lists "generic" as an antonym. This might suggest that there should be other producers of the contraforte besides its inventors, Eppelsheim and Wolf. A brief Google search does not reveal any other makers of the instrument.

Promotional Content?
[edit]I saw the disclaimer saying there's promotional content on this page and to help remove it. I saw a part where it listed Lewis Lipnick's old contrabassoon and its retail price and I removed it. The 3rd paragraph was also talking entirely about Lewis Lipnick and him playing the contrabassoon and contraforte. I am wondering if that is promotional content.
I do not want to remove the whole paragraph, as this article is very short, but I also do not want to edit it at the risk of keeping, adding, and/or removing the wrong information. Please give suggestions or edit it the right way, if there are people better suited. TchaikovskiySympony (talk) 15:09, 22 July 2026 (UTC)
