System Informstion section gibberish

[edit]

This language -- "Because of utility regulatory changes, Consumers give up control of its transmission system. It opted instead to sell the system" -- is gibberish. Would someone clarify what is being said here? In particular ,"instead of" what?

Citations would also be good.

I removed the following because it feels like pure PR, if people feel strongly otherwise they can restore / improve for tone. --The Cunctator (talk) 20:29, 25 July 2022 (UTC)Reply

In December 2016, the global research firm Sustainalytics recognized Consumers Energy for ranking among the top 6 percent of utilities across the world for having "sustainable environmental, social and economic practices." This year marks the third year in a row that Consumers Energy has received this recognition. In 2016, the company, its foundations, and employees were predicted to give more than $10 million in contributions and volunteer hours to nonprofits.[1]

Au Sable River Canoe Marathon

[edit]

A three-part documentary entitled, Au Sable was released in 2024 on YouTube and aired on local public-access TV stations.[1] It was subtitled, "The River. The Race. The Legends." Narrated by George Blaha, voice of the Detroit Pistons and Michigan State Spartans, it was created by Justin Garant and Darren Cleavenger-Grimsley, two employees of Consumers Energy, primary sponsor of the Au Sable River Canoe Marathon since 2012.[2] The production team from Consumers Energy provided assistance.[2] On June 15, 2024 the project won an Emmy Award for Outstanding Sports Documentary from the Michigan chapter of the organization.[1]
