Classification
[edit]Based on reading, I learned this:
- Order: Anguilliformes
- Suborder: Anguilloidei
- Family: Anguillidae (freshwater eels)
After more reading, I also understood this:
- Order: Anguilliformes
- Suborder: Congroidei
- Family: Congridae (saltwater eels)
This article does not list the suborder Congroidei which I believe should be added for completeness.
