Merger proposal

[edit]

I propose that Sisters of Loreto be merged into Congregation of Jesus. I think that the content in the Sisters of Loreto article should be part of Congregation of Jesus, this has the correct name and it is more linked to another pages with the same title. In the other hand, Sisters of Loreto's interwikis refer mainly to the respective translation of Congregation of Jesus. The Sisters of Loreto article is of a reasonable size, but Congregation of Jesus is the correct name.

It is my first merge proposal in English Wikipedia, so if I make something wrong, you notice me to learn!

Sorry, but two articles are necessary because these are now two completely separate religious congregations despite having much history in common. There is a serious amount of confusion between the two, but the Congregation of Jesus does not now include the Institute of the Blessed Virgin Mary which is nicknamed Sisters of Loreto. I think that the latter article should be renamed to give the proper name. If you visit Rome, you will find that the two congregations have separate Generalates (headquarters) near each other up the Via Nomentana. The CJ are at Via Nomentana 250, while the IBVM is at Via Massua 3. Basilwatkinsosb (talk) 11:28, 28 August 2018 (UTC)Reply
